OYFF offers educational grants to birth/first mothers who lived in California at the time of placement or placed with a family in California. Educational grants can be applied to traditional school or college programs as well as non-traditional educational or vocational programs. Some things OYFF educational grants have funded include; tuition, textbooks, GED testing materials and test fees, driving school, professional certifications, nursing school uniforms and transportation costs. OYFF recognizes that there are hidden school costs that can prevent women from completing their educations. OYFF grants are designed to cover not only the typical costs, but to also fill in gaps left uncovered by financial aid.
OYFF educational grants are issued for one term or one vocational goal. If a woman completes the term or meets their original goal, she is eligible to apply for another OYFF educational grant. Following are some guidelines:

Academic Grant Application Process
Applications are processed two times throughout the year AND on a rolling basis if there is a deadline that doesn’t fit with the traditional school year schedule. An application must be complete, including all required documents, and accurate in order to be considered for funding. The steps:
