Academic Grants

On Your Feet Foundation Northern California Academic Grants are designed to enable birth mothers to achieve their personal and professional goals.  Grants are available to women who lived in California at the time of placement or placed with a family in California.

Please review the following guidelines to determine if an OYFF Academic Grant will meet your needs.  Academic Grants are generally issued one-time only.  A second grant may be considered at the discretion of the Grants Committee if it is necessary to complete a program or course of study. Please note:

  • Tuition grants are paid directly to the school.
  • The school must be an accredited or otherwise recognized institution.
  • Grants cannot be applied to debt.
  • Applicants who already hold a master’s degree are not eligible to apply.
  • Funds may be provided for special needs, including but not limited to tuition, uniforms, supplies (computer, textbooks, etc) and application fees.

The following items are NOT covered by OYFF Academic Grants:

  • Loans
  • Rent
  • Food
  • Bills
  • Other living expenses
